Thank You
Friends, I can’t tell you what your prayers and kindness have meant to me in the last week! I have felt so supported and cared for—thank you so very, very much. Dad entered the Kingdom of Heaven about 12:30am on Monday morning. My mother was with him and said he gave a little shout before his final breath. I have to believe it was him seeing those pearly gates and all those he loves waiting for him and being so glad that he leapt right in with joy! So I am sad, but also so relieved that he suffers no longer. I will be away the weekend of June 26 for his Celebration of Life service and I ask that you continue to hold my mother, especially, in your prayers as she adjusts to a new normal. Thank you, dear ones. Truly.
Updates/Big News
Here at home, we prepare to wish our beloved Pauley family well this Sunday with a reception following the 10:30am service in the parish hall. Fr. Perry has been a true partner to me in our short overlap of ministry together. I will miss him, but feel grateful he is following his sense of call: which is a great act of faithfulness.
And joyfully, we are able to move forward seamlessly become soon-to-be-priest Erin Oney has accepted my offer to join the CCA staff half-time starting Monday! It is a perfect opportunity for Erin to continue to develop her ordained life and serve a parish she loves. It also assures we have the clergy coverage we need with a person who already knows the lay of the land. Her half-time work will allow her to continue as chaplain at Christ Church School as well, so we will have the best of both worlds and a deepened connection between the school and the parish. So I urge you to joyfully welcome Erin in her new capacity soon! I hope you all plan to attend her ordination to the priesthood on June 16 at 6:30pm right here at CCA. All are welcome!
Peace,
Mother Erika
