Dear Ones,
I write this week from Minnesota where I am in vigil with my family at my dad’s last days. He’s had Parkinson’s for many years and so eternity is calling him beyond the veil. His name is Peter if you would be so generous as to offer your prayers for his journey into the eternal habitations.
The staff team and wardens have been so supportive and jumped in to handle the world in my absence for which I am immensely grateful. You should be proud to have such loving leadership in this place. I am deeply honored by their partnership.
In the meantime, I am keeping up from afar with all that’s happening with us at CCA and making plans for our future in light of Fr. Perry’s call to Trinity Cathedral. We will make some staffing adjustments to make sure we are able to continue forward meeting our parish needs. The details of that aren’t settled yet, but I should have more info for you by the email next week.
I hope to be able to celebrate the Holy Spirit’s arrival with you this Sunday, but even if I’m not there (my father is QUITE the stubborn German after all), please wear red and give thanks that Jesus has gifted us the breath of life, the tongues of fire, the understanding in our own languages of God’s profound love for each and every one of us. It will be a joyous day. Thanks be to God.
Faithfully,
Mother Erika
