Dear Ones,
I’m so glad to be back amongst you this week!
My dad’s service was a joyful celebration for which I’m grateful. I got to hear of his impact on so many other peoples’ lives. It was truly humbling and went a long way toward healing my heart. I felt your prayers and companionship on my journey each moment and I can’t thank you enough for all the ways you’ve all upheld me. You are generous and I thank you.
And now we move forward! July is a quiet month at CCA, as many know, but we will try and keep lively as we proceed. There are two events of note I’d like to draw your attention to if you’re staying in the Valley this summer.
First, I am offering a Rector’s Tea for those who are new to the parish in the last year. This will be held after church on July 24. If you’re new this year, I’d love to meet you, learn what brought you here to CCA, and how we can keep helping you feel at home. And if you’re away that weekend, I’ll hold another of these later in the fall, so you can come to that one instead. More details soon, but mark your calendar if you’re new to CCA!
Second, we’re going to have a fun Game Night on Saturday, July 30, from 5pm-7pm, open to the whole parish. Games for kids, adults, and everyone in between will be available. We’ll have some pizza and snacks and stay cool inside the parish hall. I’ll be bringing my cribbage board for anyone who wants to take me on!
Stay cool out there, dear ones. And get your rest. The slower month is for good purpose to hit a reset button and take care of ourselves. We need not go 100 mph all the time. God showed us to take sabbath rest, so use this time for you.
Until I see you, stay well!
