This was an amazing week for me. I got to live out my lifelong dream of becoming a priest in God’s church.
Dramatic pause.
Now the real work begins.
As the brand new Associate here at Christ Church of the Ascension, I have begun my duties in the midst of all kinds of activities. It may take me a while to get what my dad would have called my sea legs. As I am learning the new job, and all the new people, please came introduce yourself, if we haven’t met. I am looking forward to meeting everyone! If we already know each other, still come and say hello. I am going to be looking to all of you to help me become the associate. I follow in some pretty big footprints.
In case you are wondering about me, I have been the chaplain at the day school since the very first year. I took a long, and roundabout path through seminary and graduated from the Church Divinity School of the Pacific in May. I was ordained here at CCA last week and have celebrated the eucharist just one time. My mantra right now is “The expert in anything was once a beginner!” I am married to Rich, mama to three amazing adults and gamma to the cutest two grandkids ever! I love to scrapbook read, and bake, in fact, I am a bit of a homebody.
I have spent the last three years as a student in seminary and I’m looking forward to coming out of the cave and being with all of you. As far as a title, my plan is to continue to be Chaplain Erin, both at the school and the church.
God is good!
