Alleluia! He is RISEN!
Thanks be to God, dear ones, for such a marvelous Easter celebration. About 400 people attended worship on Sunday to celebrate the Resurrection and it was a joyous morning. Many who had not attended a live service in a long time were present in person, our 9am Zoom service was held in the lovely Ascension Chapel to great effect, and the overall tone was celebratory and reverent. What a gift for us to have been together. Thank you for YOUR part as worshipper, volunteer, donor on this special day.
As we head into the last month of our program year, a few notes on our various Formation/Education offerings for adults:
On May 1, we will begin a 4-week series on Sundays at 1pm called “Prepping Your Summer Prayers”. Each of the clergy will take a week and talk about various resources, options, and practices that you could consider as part of designing your summer prayer life while our usual classes are on hiatus. You can put together the pieces that resonate with your life and have a personalized set of prayers to walk you through the summer months. This will be on Zoom and will meet May 1, 8, 15, and 22.
The Wednesday 11am Discipleship Group will meet on ZOOM for in-depth Lectionary-based Easter season discussions April 27 through May 25. Our Women’s Bible Study on Thursdays will be held on ZOOM at 10am and will feature Lectionary-based discussions on the Easter season readings.
Then on Wednesday evenings at 6pm, Fr. Perry will lead a ZOOM conversation about The Way of Love: Developing a Rule of Life for Beloved Community, which outlines seven key actions in our faith lives: Turn. Learn. Pray. Worship. Bless. Go. Rest. This will be a rich opportunity to engage the Presiding Bishop’s vision for the church and we will work on developing a rule of life that will help us live into this vision together.
Please see the Adult Formation page under the 'Know Christ' tab above for ZOOM links and passwords.
We hope that in these opportunities you will find ways to go deeper into your faith and community. We look forward to seeing you there.
Blessings,
Mother Erika
