“What’s lost is nothing to what’s found. And all the death that ever was, set next to life, would scarcely fill a cup.” – Frederick Buechner
Beloveds of CCA,
A couple of you have asked since Sunday for the quote that I ended my sermon with on Sunday, so please do find it above. I feel immense gratitude that we could start this Holy Week journey so faithfully, looking at life and death together as a community. All of my thanks to our wonderful Altar Guild and Flower Guild teams who made the space so beautiful, to our choir for ringing us into church during the procession, and to all of you for being willing to go to these vulnerable places of the Whole Story. You are a gift and a blessing—thank you.
I urge you to contemplate what other parts of the Holy Week journey will nurture you. The schedule of services is below. You are invited to attend what serves your heart best during this time and place in your life. I will see you there.
Update on our Database
I want to thank our outstanding staff again for their hard work in getting the new website and new database started. The website is visible and functional, and more additions and improvements will be made over time.
The database is a much more massive transition, and I’m remiss that I have not stated more clearly in our comments that the use of the new database will be rolled out in several stages. We are currently in Stage One in which it is online, but has to be “synced up” with the database we were using previously. Much of this has to be done by hand and several staff are working on this as able alongside their other duties. After it gets cleared that way, we will be moving toward Stage Two in which the rest of staff and our ministry heads will be trained in its uses for the various teams we work with. Stage Three will be to onboard the whole parish. Several have asked for Stage Three already and I apologize that I wasn’t more clear that we are a few steps away from that. So please remain patient, and thank your staff members for their good, hard work. These sorts of long-range projects always need several steps and we will keep you informed as we progress into future stages.
Blessings again—see you in church,
Mother Erika
