Christ Church of the Ascension is a member parish of the Episcopal Church in the United States, and the Episcopal Diocese of Arizona. We are located in the heart of beautiful Paradise Valley, Arizona. Our setting, with Camelback Mountain directly in view behind the campus, reflects the peaceful serenity of the Sonoran desert and the mystery and beauty of prayer.  

Our parish rests on Four Foundations of the Christian life:

Worship – We give regular praise and thanksgiving to God through the many worship services offered. From Sunday Masses, to weekday Evening Prayer and special Festival Commemorations.

Service – At Christ Church of the Ascension we believe that service for others is an integral part of the Christian faith, so we strongly encourage all of our members to get involved with some form of outreach to those in need. Please see the tab marked "service" to see ways in which we are involved both inside and outside of the parish community .

Education – Agreeing with Tertullian’s famous dictum that “Christians are made, not born”, we strive to provide high-quality Christian education for our entire community, from our youngest members to our oldest. See the tabs marked “Education” and “Family Ministries” above.

Giving – Finally, we believe that in thanksgiving for the very life which God has given us in Jesus Christ, it is incumbent upon our members to help support the parish and our parish ministries through financial giving.

While our setting is beautiful and our programs are thoughtfully considered, the only way to really know a church is to visit and meet the people in the community. Please accept my invitation to come worship with us on a Sunday and get to know us, no matter where you might be on your spiritual journey.
